this was a really enjoyable hike offering great views and bagging a Corbet at the same time! starting at the car park (that's £3 for the day) a trek along jocks road before taking a left path that begins to ascend steeply to views over Braemar. the path continues and is clear to follow all the way to the summit. heading back down there was some particularly boggy terrain before joining back on a clear path. once back on jocks road if the burn is too high to cross, head left across a faint path that will lead to a bridge allowing you to get back into jocks road after some careful navigation through water and rocks. then continue all the way back to the car park. highly recommend using gaiters and good pair of walking poles! although cloud prevented us from a summit view we really enjoyed this hike and would recommend. we undertook it in November following heavy rain.
