This district is centered around the pedestrian Arbat Street, one of the oldest streets in Moscow. For a very long time Arbat was the place for artists and the neighborhood itself gained celebrity status. The first time Arbat was mentioned in the chronicles was in 1493. Arbat is a good place to find a souvenir, grab a meal, or watch the street performers. This walk will take you to the Pushkin Apartment Museum, Gogol Monument, and Shchusev Museum of Architecture.
