PR 8 - Ponta de São Lourenço is a 4.6 mile heavily trafficked out and back trail located near Caniçal, Madeira, Portugal that offers scenic views and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking and nature trips.
Este é um dos melhores percursos na Madeira. O extremo oriental da ilha consiste numa longa e extensa península chamada Ponta de São Lourenço. Nos meses de Inverno, esta é superpovoada de musgo, mas no Verão, tudo é completamente seco. O caminho tem algumas subidas íngremes, especialmente a subida até ao miradouro depois de passar a Casa da Sardinha. Mas o seu esforço é finalmente recompensado com uma vista fantástica sobre o Oceano Atlântico. O caminho de regresso leva quase o mesmo caminho e demora mais ou menos a mesma quantidade de tempo.
April 6, 2021Very nice trail but also many hikers on the way. The views were stunning But I would still recommend it. (take sun protection as there is no shade at all along the whole trail)

October 25, 2020This arid landscape is unlike any other place in Madeira. There’s a beautiful spot for swimming at Cais do Sardinha, which we opted for instead of the climb at the end. Pack your swimwear and a towel! SAM buses run to and from the trailhead. Check Rome2Rio for the schedule.

September 30, 2020September 25, 2020O passeio está bem sinalizado em relação a outros, quando nós fizemos a rota encontramos-nos com uma sinalização de que estava prohibido subir até o final a causa dás ratas!!! Recomendo levar roupa para ir a água já que vale mesmo a pena ir até o cais do sardinha.
September 12, 2020Fantastic hike with an amazing view at every turn! There’s a weird bar near the end that we skipped, but it’s worth going all the way to the end. I would have rated it moderate. It definitely takes some athletic ability and sure footing in some parts.
August 11, 2020Très belle randonnée avec de belles vues et de magnifiques couleurs avec les ocres qui se mélangent aux bleus de la mer et du ciel. Pensez à prendre une protection solaire car il n’y a aucun arbre. Si vous souhaitez vous baigner prenez aussi un maillot de bain
July 23, 2020The most beautiful scenery on every step of the way during the entire hike ! It’s graved in my Memory for ever ! Got caught in the way back from the end archipel by the sun heat , in the mid-end of the hike I had a mini sun stroke! But managed to finish this epic day with a smile stronger than my head rush from the sun ! No shade at all but the most beautiful creation ! 5 stars !
