This is the longer coastal route of the Camino Português, which is the second most popular route, good for wine lovers, as it passes through many wineries. It starts in the city of Lisbon, this route, first traveled by Queen Isabel of Portugal in the 12th century, heads north following the Atlantic coast of Portugal and Spain. You can find the shorter coastal route starting in the city of Porto here: https://www.alltrails.com/trail/portugal/porto-and-the-north/camino-portugues-coastal-porto-to-santiago-del-compostela?u=i This route also goes through smaller towns, and as it is on the coast the weather is more moderate than the inland route, which you can find here: https://www.alltrails.com/trail/portugal/porto/the-portuguese-way-of-saint-james-central-route?u=i

Head winds consistently, hard enough that flying a kite would be tough. Felt like going uphill the whole time.

Walking and biking - our group takes turns with the bike. Very hard physically. You MUST train for this. Expect 30km days regularly, and a heavy pack, keep to 10% of your body weight.

Great walking but very hard physically because of pack weights and walking every day. Also very busy with pilgrims after coastal and classic routes merge.
