This trail begins and ends at Relvão Park and takes around 2 hours. Begin the ascent in the direction of the Fort. After passing the arcade turn left and follow the signs. Go on for about 300m and you will reach Santo António Chapel. From this part of the trail you will have a fine view over the town and the bay. Climb the path on your left until you reach the picnic park from where the track continues up to Pico do Facho. Enjoy the view (the highest point of Monte Brazil: 250m) then head down for about 1 km until you find a small path on your left. On this path there are steps carved out of tree trunks and hewn out of the rock. A bit further on you will come to a fork in the path where you turn left to visit the Quebrada Fort. Return to the fork and take the path to the left bordered by Australian Cheesewood (Pittosporum undulatum). After walking for about 1 km you will come to a turning to the left that leads to Vigia da Baleia (whale lookout). Return by the same track and head straight down, first on a beaten earth track and then on tarmac until you see an arrow indicating the path leading up to Pico das Cruzinhas. Once you have walked down this last part of the trail you will be back where you set out.

A beautiful hike with nice views of the water and the Angra do Heroísmo waterfront. This is a great hike to do before or after after a meal or shopping right in town and also a wonderful place to watch the sunset!

I would recommend this trail to anyone. There’s many different paths and lookouts. Trekking poles will be helpful. The flowers and forests are beautiful. If it’s a sunny day bring your sunscreen. The views and photo opportunities are amazing.

I think this hike can be devided on three distinct types of experience. First part is more like walking in the park with beautiful views of the Angra and ocean. In the middle it becomes more like real hiking when circling around the calderia that offers beautiful views of the ocean (different angle) and calderia. The last part IMO not so interesting at all.

Great hiking / walking in a beautifull scenario with nice views of both Angra (World héritage) and the sea.

First trail on Terceira, and hiking in general, was awesome! Great views, saw about 5 deer even though 2 of them may have been the same, but you have cliffs, over views of the town's and a lot of nature. Loved it
