Hike around the twin lakes. Most of the trail is on dirt road, finishing with a bit of paved road. Spectacular views of the lakes and coast. The abandoned hotel is definitely worth a visit - exercise caution when investigating the building.

Effectuée avec un enfant de 10kg sur le dos. Challenge. Randonnée à faire absolument pour voir les lacs sous tous les angles.

We attempted to do this hike twice: both times it was foggy, so we decided to wait. I downloaded an app, called “Windy” which had a web cam onto the lake and once it showed a clear image - we went out! The hike started really great with warm sunny weather, clouds came in around 2pm and it got very windy and foggy. Sweater and rain jacket came to rescue!! Good trail, not very easy, but rewarding! The views are spectacular.

we were a bit unlucky with the weather. The site gets easily foggy and could not appreciate any view point. The worst though is the fact that more than 6kms of the hike are on road with no walking path (you litterally have to walk on the street where cars are driving very fast), combine that with fog and it's an extremely dangerous mix. We had to hitchhike the last Kms! Would recommend a different path. Just go up to catch a couple nice pictures of the views and go back. not recommend. Also, the not dangerous parts are a simple truck road with no nature around you.

Amazing worth the full 12.6 miles. Every viewpoint is beautiful !! Bring water and a snack. Took us 5 hours due to the hills

Wonderfull trail, the view is amazing (without clouds) but it's very cloudy and windy. The end of this trail is on the road, it's not very secure. But globally it was a good moment with scenic views.

beautiful walk around the crater but brutally long walk on the highway for a good 6km back to the car. bring lots of water.

nice views and easy track. Walking along a gravel road just isn't my preference.

I wouldn’t call this a hike. I was under the impression that it was a nicely trailed pathway as seen in the popular boco do inferno photo. It is an old dirt road trail that takes you around Sete Cidades. Some great view points of the lakes but it is a long 20km trek on a dirt road. Would recommend spending time walking around Boco do inferno viewpoint.

Great trail. At sunrise, I spent the first two hours totally alone without seeing anybody. The view is fantastic. The drawback of this trail is the last stretch (at least 3 km) that you spend on the road in between the guardrail and cars passing by.

Spectacular trail. Also I strongly recommend you go to the boca de inferno miradour somewhat off the trail. It is the most spectacular view in the island!

Really long tour. Be carreful with the roads pointed by MappsMe at the end of the tour. Those way are really hard.
