Small fishing harbors, red sand dunes, lunar landscapes, the scent of pine trees and the sight of nesting storks on the cliffs make this portion of the Rota Vicentina an unforgettable experience.

Beautiful hike along the coast. Hiking along the dunes with inlets and fantastic rock formations. Had Natas and coffee 10 km in. Unfortunately the cafes at entrada do Barca were closed so had to trudge the last 3km to town to get afternoon refreshments.

Nice mix of dunes and cliffs to start and off-road trail for the 2nd half. Stunning landscape, views and nature up close. One steep descent with 3km to go but otherwise brilliant.

4/9/19 walked Almograve to Cabo Sardao and back. Best part is before the Cabo. lighthouse is not really worth it.

Easy terrain (except for the dunes and sandy path at the beginning), the difficulty of this trail is it's length. From Cavaleiro to Zambujeira do Mar it's only regular "country" road which is super comfortable but slightly boring and your feet may start hurting at some point.
