This trail begins at the Wind Farm of the Serra do Topo, ends at Fajã dos Cubres and takes around 2h30mins. A wide path begins the trail alongside a reservoir. Turn right at the next fork in the trail, through the barred gate. Just beyond there is a shelter. Here the trail begins the descent to Caldeira de Cima, where there is a bridge. After this there is a small path to the right, that can sometimes be slippery, which leads to a waterfall. The trail goes on to Caldeira de Santo Cristo, which is about half-way along the route. This Caldeira, where there is a restaurant, is an interesting place for its culture and landscape. Continue on to Fajã dos Cubres, where the trail ends. Note the steel cables that used to carry firewood. Don’t forget to go prepared with suitable footwear and please do not forget to close the gates to avoid the cattle straying. There is also another trail that begins on the other side of the main road and that heads south (PR-2 SJO Fajã dos Vimes).

Hiked the trail during foggy/misty weather. Great scenery! Due to the wet terrain, some of the rocky parts of the trail were slippery and this slowed our progress A LOT. Estimated time for the hike was 4 hours in these conditions.
