HikingGreat!

A nice walk through the ruins. A bit steep in parts and have you a good burn in the thighs. Loved it

Easy and paved walk up hill. I also reccommend going to the food storage buildings across the valley for another perspective of the fortress. Both can be done in the same day

First to Review

If you are in Peru and headed to Machu Picchu for a day, I would highly recommend visiting this archeological site. Way less crowded and just as beautiful, though not as grand of a scale as MP. There are a ton of stone steps for climbing up and down the site. Be sure to bring walking poles if needed, but use rubber tips on the ends to help preserve the stone. https://www.touropia.com/ollantaytambo-ruins/ I screwed up on the map and also started recording late. This could easily be 3 miles. A climb up the 200 steps to the top gives a visitor a close up look at the remains of several fountains and temples.

HikingGreat!

This was our first site of ruins to explore on our tour, it was cool but so very busy, it's a short hike and you will climb some stairs but take it slow due to the altitude you will get winded
