Lares Trek is a 57.6 kilometer lightly trafficked point-to-point trail located near Lares, Cusco, Peru that features a lake and is only recommended for very experienced adventurers. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from March until October. Dogs and horses are also able to use this trail.

The Lares trek is a two- or three-day high-altitude hike starting near the village Lares. The Lares Valley lies in the east of the Urubamba mountain range, traversing part of the Sacred Valley. Reaching the start of the trek requires a bus or van trip of approximately 5 hours from the village of Lares. The Lares trek route transverses typical Peruvian Andean mountain areas.

Guided journey, 3 days. Lares to Cucani and overnight camp. Days 2, Cuncani to Ipsay pass. Day 3 Huacawasi pass to Mantanay, then end at Yanahuara. Altitude 15,700 at pass. Snow at pass. Alpine lakes, too numerous to count. Will llamas and vicunas.
