It is a great climb with excellent views throughout - not just at the end! The view at the top is the most impressive. You see white sand beaches with the bluest waters next to huge rocky mountains . It is a bit buggy at the very top. There are some very steep parts that require a bit of scrambling, but not super difficult. The trail leads partly near the cliff’s edge, not a hike for anyone with fear of heights.

Wear good hiking shoes, and be prepared to scramble in places. Sheep greet you along the way. At many points you are near the cliff’s edge, but never felt unsafe. Make sure you know which route you are taking. Head away from the beach initially. The trail splits at one point and heads to the highest peak in Norway. That’s not the one you want. Not a hike for anyone with fear of heights. Stunning vista near the end overlooking the beaches. We dipped our feet in the ocean after hiking and it was frigid, but wonderful! (Sunny day, August 2019). I wouldn’t have done this in rainy weather.

Beautiful hike. It had been raining all day and the previous day so the trail was a little muddy. Breath taking views! Easy to get lost on the way down. Looked like we were not the only ones as there seemed to be a cut trail.

I would HIGHLY recommend this trail! It is a great climb with excellent views throughout - not just at the end! Although, the view at the top is the most impressive. You see white sand beaches with the bluest waters next to huge rocky mountains . It is a bit buggy at the very top. There are some very steep parts that require a bit of scrambling, but not super difficult. I would highly recommend good hiking shoes though! Don’t miss out. Again, the views are absolutely stunning. Try to go on a clear day!
