Views are incredible - mountains in every direction! Some spots on the route may be too treacherous to some, including one spot where you pull yourself up using a chain to climb on to the next ledge and you are right at the cliff edge as you do so. Definitely not for the faint of heart, or folks who don’t have significant difficult hiking experience. You can also do the climb to the first view point, and then head back down the same way (you can park in the lot). That gets you mostly the same views, without the chain climb sections.

This hike delivers some of the most stunning scenery we saw in our whole road trip through the West coast of Norway. out of this world, totally worth it. I dare say more scenic than pulpit rock!

WOW!!! This is hike is a hike and an adventure of a lifetime!!! Life-changing hike for a newbie hiker like me!! Breath-taking views everywhere you look. I did the hike alone in July and it was one of the best trips i’ve ever had!!! Ascend and descend are both challenging. For a newbie like me, there were scaryyyy parts where I had to lift myself up on the chains to get to other side. I’m a little bit afraid of heights so on the ridge i was walking very carefully. But oh my ghad so worth all the heart race and leg pains!!! Would love to do it again. Trails are well-marked, with water sources. Finished the hike in 7.5 hours. I like that this hike is not touristy. Highly recommended!

My favorite hike in Norway before they made it safer for tourists on the way down. Been to Norway every year since 2013 and this hike is totally amazing . One of the best still

Views are incredible, though I would rate this hike as strenuous, not hard. It takes most people 7-8 hours, and many people take even longer. Mountains in every direction, gorgeous all around! There were times that were pretty bare knuckle, including one spot where you basically have to pull yourself up using a chain to climb on to the next ledge, and you are right at the cliff edge as you do so. Definitely not for the faint of heart, or folks who don’t have significant difficult hiking experience. You can also do the climb to the first view point, 3-4 km, and then head back down the same way (you can park in the lot). That gets you mostly the same views, without the scary chain climb sections.

Well worth the effort! Be ready for the descent, not hard but a meniscus tenderizer! One of our best hikes Europe . Have fun

One of the most amazing experiences of my life. The views are utterly spectacular. The hike down was definitely killer on the legs by the time we got to the bottom, but so, so worth it. Would hike again in a heartbeat!

This was the highlight of our trip to Norway. As others have said, do not underestimate this hike. The views are amazing and we were lucky with the weather but there are some challenges along the way.

I have a fear of heights but did it anyways. Makes for a great story and something that you have to do while in Norway! Met some friendly people along the way to help me along.

Fu**ing insane. If you’re even a little bit scared of heights, do it anyway. Have some good friends with you to help. One missed step and you’re done! So worth it! I’d do it again no doubts. I can’t believe something like that is real. The views.. no words can describe it. Just do it

The ridge and views are outstanding... second to none. but do NOT underestimate this hike. we did the optional extra peak taking this to 13.total Km and it took us 8 hours! we are fit and experienced hikers! the ridge requires scrambling and a head for heights and the last 2km are essentially a long staircase straight down a cliff -excruciating by the end! But, the view from the ridge.... unbeatable. (and we hiked half it in the pouring rain with no visibility) btw get the morning bus to the start of the hike! leaves 9 30 am from andalsnes train station
