I have walked this on several occasions and at different times of the year, I'm an average Walker at 60years of age ,it takes me 90min up and 60min down, half the trail is gravel path then onto boardwalk, difficulty medium, I would highly recommend, be aware there is no toilets and dogs not allowed as the hill is grazed by sheep.

HikingGreat!No shade

Nice walk but pretty monotonous. Good distance from car park to start of boardwalk over gravel path. Boardwalk is actually the quickest part of the walk. The steps at the end are narrow and as daunting as they look actually easier than the broader ones at the beginning. Views from the top are lovely but I would imagine on a busy day it is very crowded. Definitely recommend going early.

You need to walk a good bit on stoney paths before you reach the start of the boardwalk. Boardwalk is quite narrow. The longer steps on an incline are quite tough on the legs. The smaller steps at the top look daunting but are much easier to climb than the larger steps! Pretty view from the top but not amazing. Weather changed really quickly, sunny on start of climb but by the time we reached the top it was very windy and cold, so I'd say wear layers! We arrived at 9am and got lucky with getting a spot in the closest car park & not many people on the walk when we started so I'd recommend arriving early because it was very busy on our way back down.

I hiked here in December and loved it. So beautiful. Easy hike. The snow made the boardwalk really slippery but it was well worth it.

Very popular trail. On a warm windless summer day you will be eaten by midges, so mosquito net is a must!

Nice hike, very busy, boardwalk doesn't go as far as the cairn. carry on to the cairn for panoramic views and less traffic.

Great facility, can definitely be crowded at times. There is 1k from the first car park to the second. We continued onto the peak which is about another k on from where the boardwalk ends. Definitely recommend doing this as the views are lovely on a clear day and very few people.

HikingGreat!

It’s a good morning hike. Took around 3 hours to return. Glad we started early, we reach there around 8.30 and finished at 11.30. On our way back to car park omg.... the traffic queues to park cars were crazy. £5/€6 for parking. Reach early! Walking up was not that bad to reach board walk took around 1hr. Then incline starts gradually and then steps to top. Boardwalk is fairly narrow only 2 people can pass. Better take sanitiser with you. Today was a sunny day and walking up was bit challenging with the heat. Not much space to sit and relax at the top and so many flies up there. Better take a long sleeve top or jacket with you.way back is easy. You get good views up at the top and from halfway in boardwalk.
