This one I did many years back before AllTrails existed. I was young and crazy enough to do this jet-lagged after a 12 hour flight. I was dead tired at the end, but the view at the top was worth the challenge.

I love that I did it but oh my god I regretted it several times along the way. Definitely need to be somewhat fit to do this! We had 40 km/h wind and rain from the hut to the top so it was quite dangerous at times.

awesome hike... went to hut and back.. took us 4 1/2 hours there and back. well maintained track.

Not as hard as this implies, not easy but the track is well maintained. The trickiest bit is some muddy narrow steps that go on for a while at one point. There is a free lodge just before the final ascent to the pinnacles themselves which is free and very well maintained. This is a great overnighted quick getaway.

Forgot to do the review from 3 weeks ago!! What a great experience. Battled through the wind and some rain, but well worth it. The hut and its ammenities was great. The company of 47 people was the icing on the cake as well as watching the sun rise at the top (a reasonably easy 90 minute return walk/climb to the top from the hut...Well done DOC

Did it as a day walk, and was a total walking time of about 4hrs. It was very fun and the views at the top are amazing! Few various signs with old information about the loggers of the area which was interesting. Bush is a cool native mix and the waterfall is impressive, if only you could get a little closer!

solid walk through native Bush. rises up at the end with some rock climbing required. great view

Amazing track! Definitely recommend hiking boots as it’s very steep and rocky at parts. From the hut to the peak has steep ladders, stairs and rings on rocks to help with the rock scramble/climb to the top. Hut has full supplies (pots pans plates toilet paper etc.) just bring your own clothes food and water. Definitely recommend!

Get up early and make it for sunrise. The most mind-blowing views from the top!!

Awesome, just spectacular. And to be rock climbing at the very top, something I will never forget.

Such a great hike! The views are very special and the hike very interesting. Steps, steep sections breaking with flat sections, through forest and open areas. At the end some climbing.... Well, just from everything a little bit

A stunning hike that leads you through the beautiful thick Kauri Forest up to the top of the mountain. It needs a good hiking shoe, due to the rocky sections. We have done it as a day hike, which is totally make able. Most of the time you walk in the forest, cool and protected from the sun. We loved the views and the thickness of the forest

A lots of beautiful places and amazing paths with so many stairs (difficult because of that) so really good to stay at the Hut for the night to see the sunset and rest before the return

Just made it. Far but nice. Steep but worth it. Mostly shady. Many stairs. Don't return at the huts!Walk up to the Pinnacles, that's most exhausting and most beautiful. Did the Billygoat up, Webb Creek down. 3:30h up, 2h down.

Amazing hike with great views from the top. Defiantly recommend booking the hut for the night via DOC WEBSITE not too expensive and allows you to enjoy this place at sunset and sunrise. Toke us 2hours 40 mins to get to the top of pinnacles via the Webb creek track. Came down via this way too. It is a nice route that is shaded by the sun. Weather at top of pinnacles is colder than down below to bring warmer stuff for up there

That trail is truly amazing. Steep but shady climb until the hut, then one more steep climb (partly with steps, ladders and handles attached to the rocks). Stunning views, especially at sunrise and sunset - but really must be great all day! The hut needs reservation (see the great DOC website, can all be handled online) and is very well maintained - bunk beds, kitchen with gas stoves and all (as per Feb 2019). Get up there! ;)

Great track to really test your fitness levels. Loads of stairs so if you aren’t keen on them don’t do it! Thoroughly enjoyed this hike and would definitely do again. Unfortunately the day was overcast so we didn’t have a clear view, however still a spectacular view and worth every step! Took the Web Creek trail - 2 hours 40 mins to the summit and 2 hours return.

Good trail.....but I found the trail was hard to do the round trip in a day. My suggestion....book the hikers lodge and sleep over night.....nice facilities.

A challenging hike with spectacular views from the top. Loads of stairs.

Nice view, but doesn’t worth the effort. Nothing to see until you get to the peak.

A good hike to take on if you need to conquer a fear of heights ;). There are a TON of stairs. And the trail is extremely rocky. Your quads, hams and calves will get worked. I have knee issues so If you have joint issues, take it slow. The last 800 meters (mile?) Have steep ladders you must also climb up rocks. But the view was worth it. I caught it on an overcast day and was trying to beat sunset. Very windy on the platform so be careful. All kinds of people on the trail. After seeing a few elderly, children and visually impaired person on the trail, I felt a bit silly for being afraid. One word of advice, don't wear bright clothes. The flies here are weird. Had been heckled the whole climb up only to realize half way down maybe it was my shirt and backpack. Hid those abs didn't have another problem. Definitely a must hike!

Best hike in Coromandel. We were very lucky with the weather, the sky was clear when we reached the top so we could really enjoy the amazing view from there. If there is a flood warning after a rainy day, doing the whole loop is not recommended, you should take the webb creek track on the way back as well (ask the warden at the pinnacle hut if there is a warning).

Great hike. Clear skies when started but clouds moved in by the time we made the viewing platform on the top, so we missed the view. Visitor Center no longer logs in or out hikers for safety. So ensure someone else knows your hiking plan.
