New Zealand's second most popular Great Walk. A moderately difficult high-mountain traverse that links Fiordland and Mount Aspiring national parks. Usually a two to three day trip - popular in summer and almost impassable during winter. This South to North route has slightly less incline and is more popular with guided hikes and tours. Difficult, but well worth it. Some super sketchy parts where if you put a foot wrong you are a gonna. Most of the time you are climbing through wet slippy rain forest, with each step you are negotiating tree roots.
