Rob Roy track closed so hiked from the raspberry creek car park to the West Matukituki track and back. Plenty of mountain bikers and hikers about. Beautiful easy track.

I would say this is a moderate hike, not hard. Ends looking a beautiful glacier & lots to look at along the way. Beware that the drive to the start of the hike is an interesting one... Be ready to drive through almost a dozen fords and hundreds of sheep (in herds). I personally thought it was fun, but my friend (passenger) said there was no way she could have done the drive.

Beautiful trek, sunny and clear. The trail is easy, going up at first but in a gentle way. You're almost in the shade of the forest all the time. We started early so it was almost empty but on our way down it was getting really crowded...

Super great track!! We got a perfect day, sunny and 17 degrees C in mid April. Trail was moderately busy but everyone we saw was in good spirits. Generally a pretty decently easy track but the first half of the way in can get you a little tired, but definitely one of the easier hikes I have done in NZ. absolutely breathtaking views at the beginning and end of the trail, the glacier was amazing! The cows at the car park and beginning of the trail were super cute as well. Disappointed we didn’t see any kea but still a 10/10 hike!!!

Was a beautiful day. We hiked this trail in early April and the weather was fabulous. We are not the quickest hikers but made it to the top in a couple of hours. Veiws were well worth the effort. Make sure to dress in layers as the bottom of the trail is under cover and was cool but as we climbed needed to peel off some layers.

Beautiful hike. A most in the south island. The ride over is not easy with a large car(sleeps 5). Crossing the fords is recommended with a 4wd or a high car. Especially 48 hours after it rained. The hike have 2 extensions. I tried both. Theshort one is a nicer view point. It is very tight as not many people go there. The longer one is right next to the information stands on the upper view point. Its recommend to do it with another person.

Incredible hike! Long rough drive to the car park but with beautiful views along the way. Hike follows a gorge filled with milky blue water to amazing glacier and waterfall views. We got so lucky with blue skies too. Highly recommend.

worth getting to the start of the hike for the beautiful scenery and valley alone. we crossed 10 fords with our economy sized car just go slow and pick out the shallow areas. agreed that upper falls is a must- even if you don't make it all the way to the top there are sights to see along the way. Theres a bathroom at the top. We are very very slow hikers and started at 4:30p and got down by 8:30p sunset by rushing on the way down (1.5hrs)

Amazing beautiful walk. The road to the start of the trail is gravel track so allow extra time for this. The car park was also full by 12pm so I would head there early. The view of the glacier is breathtaking and has lots of waterfalls coming down. This walk is an absolute must do. The walk isn’t too tough either there are some uphill climbs but is separated with flat parts to making it easier. Path is easy to follow and marked out.

great track. pays to have decent boots as there is a lot of loose rock. bring warm clothing, ground temperature is much warmer than at the top of the track so have an extra layer. for getting there, perhaps use a 4WD, there are a few fords and 30km of unsealed road that your rental toyota won't enjoy. go early, track is empty in the morning.

Lovely relatively easy hike into a valley with a fantastic breath taking view of Rob Roys glacier and waterfalls. For the adventurous there is a bit more path, not as well discernable beyond the point where most people stop to soak up the stunning surroundings. I loved the abundance of yellow flowers. Definetly rewarding.

Awesome track! Easy but can be a bit slippery at some spots. The view is spectacular with valley, glacier and Forrest. You need to drive 30-40min of gravel farm road to get to trail head and have 9 fords (crossing creek water). So better with a SUV.

Really gorgeous hike - a uphill but still easy. You have to cross a lot of fords on the road to the trailhead, so just be ready for that. we just had a little Toyota Corolla that did fine, but it also hadnt rained recently so the water wasn't too crazy.

Hiked this a few years back and it was one of the highlights of our trip so now that I am using All Trails I thought I would review it. It wasn’t highly trafficked but can be a pain to get to if rainy due to muddy roads. We had to help push the car in front of us through a muddy area. The views and hike are worth it. While this is rated easy. It is all relative as to what you are used to. This at times is moderate but easy because the trail is well maintained and easy to walk. Weather also plays a role. Look at the map for the incline. I’ve had much easier trails makes as moderate vs this in IL and TN in the US. Nonetheless if you can walk and are in ok shape you can do this. Again...the views are worth venturing here for a few hr hike.
