Beautiful and fairly easy hike. The hike has a lot of tall trees and shaded areas which makes it a very pleasant hike.

We only went up to the Basket of Dreams and turned back as it started to rain. Very steep for much of the way (not just the start), and very (!!) steep getting to the start from downtown, if you’re walking up. Great views along the way and from the basket statue.

Amazing view. A little steep with the kids in the packs but totally worth it.

didn't have time to go all the way, so just went to the summit. for those who have limited time, can just go to the summit, hace pretty nice view there already, almost 360. so lucky to see the rainbow between the mountains!

Trail was in great condition! As mentioned, it’s steep for a short period at the beginning and at the end. There are some pretty incredible views, so I suggest bringing some snacks and having a picnic at the summit. It’s shaded for the most part but there are sunny spots so make sure to use sun cream!

This trail is in perfect condition-I emphasize this because a recent reviewer was completely in error when she said it was washed out and overrun. The trail starts right next to some houses overlooking Queenstown. The first five minutes are pretty steep, but after that it’s just a nice incline. Views from the top are stunning and well worth the climb to get there. Oh, and most of the hike is under the cover of majestic, beautiful pine trees that provide perfect shade!

The trail is destroyed. the grass is wiped far off the trail. there is fine sand that is slippery. broken flowers. the second peak is bald, wiped off by the excess feet that have passed there. the trail is beautiful and the view from the top is beautiful but they should close it for some time. the land on this trail should heal. I went there but I shouldn’t. If I would know how it’s broken track because of us tourists.

Beautiful! Walked the loop with Ava on the day after Christmas. Beautiful views and great conversation about the past, future, and present. We debated giving up once we got to the lookout but decided to keep going and it was well worth it for the backside view of the mountains. The gradient is consistently steep for the whole way up. Took us about an hour and 40 minutes (stops included).

I would probably call this a moderate trail - no technical climbing and not too steep. Beautiful views of Queenstown and Lake Wakatipu.

Great walk for a view over the city. Went a little over the summit which was totally worth it and provided the view to the North and East aswell. Took me about 1.30h including return and it's fairly steep at times, however definite recommendation!

Amazing views out over Queenstown. Some moderate incline but not too bad. Track is easy to stick to. Lots of different options for distance.
