Rather moderate than hard - the track is wide and not very steep, easy to walk on. You don't need a proper hiking shoes but it can be slippery on the way back (gravel). Took me 2.5 hrs to climb up at a very slow pace, enjoying the views and taking pictures. At 5 pm almost no wind on the top of the hills.

amazing views of lake hawea already on the way up! on the top you can see lake wanaka as well as lake hawea. bring a windbreaker for the summit and trekking poles for the way down (in case of bad knees that is). you don't really need hiking boots as the path itself is relatively easy to walk. there is just one part shortly after the start (or end respectively) that can be a bit tricky and maybe slippery when wet.

Great trail with a combo of hiking through a small amount of farmland, woodland, and then mostly a 4x4 trail the rest of the way to the summit. Can get steep but not technical at all and probably on the easier side of a difficult rating. 2.5 hours up at a medium pace. We had only occasional views between clouds/fog but they were stunning nonetheless, even well before the summit.

What an amazing trail, started around 4pm and took me 1hr 54min to reach the summit. From the top it’s 360 degrees of stunning views, highly recommended!!! After couple kilometers you already have some beautiful view of the lake, for people wonder if they can make it no worries you can turn back anytime and still have incredible shots!!

Awesome views all the way up and at the summit (Wanaka and Hawea lakes) but boring terrain walk. Hike boots are not useful, running shoes would have been perfect. Wind breaker for the summit. We did it in 3.5 hours going up and 2.5 going down with a lot of pauses.

we did it today for sunrise. Took us 2h to the top and 1.5h return. Sunrise was breathtaking! We were alone on the track and on the top. I highly recommend this track!
