Waitonga Falls Trail is a 2.4 mile out and back trail located near Ohakune, Manawatu-Wanganui, New Zealand that features a waterfall and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and bird watching.
January 17, 2021An easy and pretty stunning hike near ohakune. The waterfall itself is so-so, and takes some wet slippery scrambling to get to, but the trail is wonderful. Beautiful forest, well-maintained steps and bridges, and amazing views of Ruapehu over the exposed tarns. 7yo and 11yo did great.
