What an awesome but challenging hike but we'll worth it for the views of Aoraki. It starts with lots of stairs up to Seley Tarns. Then the hiking really starts with a steep climb, rocks, scree up to ridge. Then an easy walk to the hut.

The track is well maintained considering the area, the traffic and the difficulty of the hike but it was challenging and rewarding. Absolutely would do it again! Not good on the way down if you have bad knees though!!

not an easy, moderate but hard track. I think I have never seen so many stairs and that steep, but the views worth the effort.

Epic walk. Was able to do half of the Meuler Hut walk as well as the snow line has raised.. Incredible views of Mt Cook the whole way up.. Prep yourself for stairs, so if you have bad knees would recommend poles.

Amazing view, amazing challenge for myself. 2200 stairs climb up. Next time I will try to stay in the hut. Fantastic weather after storm. Just carry plenty of water. Not moderate at all, was hard up there

Awesome walk. LOTS of stairs but well worth the views at the top. Take a walking pole or a stick if doing it in winter as the top part is in the snow line and steps can be icy.

Absolutely. Amazing. Makes you realize why you came to mt cook after being slightly disappointed w the Hooker walk. This trail was up there w Ben Lomond, Roy’s Pk and Roberts Trail for me. Stairs all the way up but you can stop at any point and turn behind you for the most beautiful view. Go on a sunny clear day and it’s outstanding!! Perfect views of cook and you get so close to the snow of the surrounding moutains. It’s also amazing on a cold day because you get the sun most of the way up!!!

Considering the slope grade, the trail is incredibly well built and maintained. But it is more stair steps than any other trail I have done. The views are great but be prepared for wind & cold at Sealy Tarn.

Trail is well maintained. To get to the top you will be climbing stairs the whole way. We were stuck in the clouds once we reached 1500ft elevation, but a good workout and views overall
