Muller Lake Lookout is a 1.2 mile out and back trail located near Twizel, Canterbury, New Zealand that features a lake and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, and nature trips.
The most spectacular views per ounce of energy in all of New Zealand. Make sure to come on a clear day for the best experience. The trail is easy to follow and very comfortable. The carpark is pretty much packed after 900am but there is enough parking for ~200 so your bound to get something anytime throughout the day. Highly recommended.
Easy trail. Spectacular scenery. A must when you are around Mt Cook
Easy walk with stunning views! Really worth it!! Recommend to anyone who loves glacier!
Beautiful easy track with stunning views at the end. Must do if you are in the area.
Easy trail to follow. There are a few suspension bridges along the way. It’s mostly flat with some steps here and there. We did this track in early June. The conditions were good, not too cold and quite clear when we were there, although the drive there was very fogged in. Definitely recommend this hike.
I would recommend this trail to anyone- but start early and be prepared for crowds!!
Easy and well maintained. Also because of its proximity to the village, very well traveled. The swinging bridge was an easy addition for some more great views.
Stunning views all around (5 stars), but soooo crowded it’s like Disneyland! (3 stars because of that). Final rating is 4 stars, or maybe 3.5, just so crowded. Very easy hike though.
Gorgeous, super easy trail. Clouded in during the morning, but cleared up in the afternoon to beautiful blue skies and clear views of Mount Cook. Heavily trafficked, but the trail is wide and well maintained. Great bridges and boardwalks. Plenty of places to stop and take gorgeous photos without people in them.
A super easy hike even for people that don’t hike often (like us). Worth going the whole way! Lots of cool areas to see. Going around 4pm was BEAUTIFUL to see the golden hour begin on the landscapes
