Nice hike for a lookout over Lake Tekapo, the city, as well as the surrounding mountains. Definitely worth the time! https://www.doc.govt.nz/parks-and-recreation/places-to-go/canterbury/places/lake-tekapo-area/things-to-do/lake-tekapo-town-tracks/

Horseback ridingGreat!

Beautiful scenery. Medium hike, up to 30min ascend and 1.5hour loop walk from summit. I went clockwise (starting forest) twice, best view going down from summit. Lots of rabbits in forest and at the end of trail. Summit and cafe area is forbidden from 5pm-9am. A lot of photography opportunities, almost on every corner.

Really enjoyed this trail. Did it on our MTBs with our three year old sitting on back. Just over 2 hours. Went clockwise so pretty steep up and rocky. Amazing views from the top.

Went clockwise through the forest first .. we have only just started hiking and I found it quite challenging but once were past the forest .. it was easier. Very beautiful walk

A short one- but not to be missed. Spectacular view. Very wide open space at the top. Prepare for animal sightings! We believe we saw some sort of jaguar or some weird animal up there...

So incredibly perfect on a clear sunny day! Great views and a really wonderful walk. Definitely go clockwise and get the views of the lake on the way down. The way up is shaded and a bit steep but only a half hour

Recommend going up the steep side by Tekapo Springs takes about 20-30 mins and then you get to enjoy amazing views the rest of the more gradual way down about 1-1.5 hrs. Hike isn’t that tough and the views are amazing considering you don’t have to go that far. Did this walk about 10 times during lockdown and it never disappointed!

Hands down one of the most beautiful walks I have done. I went anti clockwise, the views are stunning.

Beautiful hike. 3h if you don't stop seems right. It goes steep a little but take your time and you'll be fine. It's not a hard walk. Doable in reverse too.

Very beautiful hike with diverse views and vegetation, under 3 hours including stopping for photos and picnic at the top of the hill. We did it counterclockwise and started with the exposed section (no shade!) looking at the lake and islands. Going up the hill to the South Summit/Cafe was a good workout but totally manageable. The end of the hike is downhill in the forest, perfect to chill at the end of the hike. If you do it clockwise, you'll start with the forest uphill and then downhill all the way to the viewpoint which could have been nice as well. Either way a very nice hike!

A faire en sens inverse afin d’avoir le paysage en montée et non la forêt pendant 3 km. Superbe randonnée avec vue sur le lac et paysage montagneux.

The best part of the hike was stopping my the cafe at the summit and enjoying a good coffee. The hike is very exposed and need to make sure you are protected from the sun.

Magnifique rando !

Possibly one of the best hike I ever did, great scenery all the way from the round of the Lake to the view on the mountain higher. Once at the summit, you can either go to the carpark with a short 30-60min way but we decided to return on the same way.. it was that good !!
