There is an entrance fee of $42 for this area. It is recommended that you check in advance to see the daily erupting geyser (it's actually a couple min drive down the road from visitor center - you need a ticket here too). The Champagne Pool is impressive and unique. So many bubbling pools and cool little sights. Info on signs along the way. Do the whole thing. Very easy walk.

Very interesting geothermal features. Once you get past the Sulfur smell, you’ll be impressed by the collection of features which is (in my opinion), better than Yellowstone.

A worthwhile and interesting walk. If you've been to Yellowstone you may be underwhelmed by some of the features, with the exception of some unbelievably vivid yellows at the main lake and an ultra-bright green lake at the end of trail (the highlight for me)

an advice, if you want to avoid the other tourists come at 8am before the Lady Knox Geyser show (which is at 10am if I remember). Everybody come to Wai o tapu after this show.

Not spectacular. Only a couple of really interesting parts considering there's an entrance fee.

This was super cool. Most definitely worth the entrance fee. Would highly suggest getting there in time to see the daily erupting geyser (it's actually a couple min drive down the road from visitor center - you need a ticket here too). The Champagne Pool was so impressive and unique. So many bubbling pools and cool little sights. Info on signs along the way. Do the whole thing. Very easy walk.

Pretty amazing! Self guided track.

Only did the short loop (0.8 miles). It is pretty exposed so wear a hat/sunblock. Trail is easy and I saw lots of people in flip flops. Pretty neat thermal features!
