Great track . Distance is wrong. It is 4.9 to top , quite steep as in holding on to tree roots and rocks (and some great steps) for last 2k. So about 10k round trip All in Bush so lovely on hot day. Misty and low cloud when we got to top but still stunning. Great walk.

Good hike, lots of shade for a hot day unfortunately the top was clouded over so no views at the end. Heading up you’ll have to use your hands to leverage as there are some big steps. I took Horseman’s Track down and found the path less wide and bit more overgrown.

Great but challenging hike! Quite steep in places and slippery when wet! Careful when coming down! Worth the view on a clear day! Saw over the ranges and all the way up to the start of coromandel penninsula and could even make out my Maunganui.
