It was a short easy walk not so far from the city with amazing views at the top but beware because its always windy at the top, a light jacket is recommended. The trail is well maintained, normal shoes are okay.

Wonderful things to do here with the children, as well as walking, there's an excellent cafe and ice cream shop in Cornwall Park next door to One Tree Hill..Stunning gardens, and free wood burning bbq's, makes this a popular destination for evening walks and then cooking sausage on a stick, or a great steak..lots of free parking and toilets. Big playground just beyond entrance to One Tree Hill, which also has an archery club to watch adults only at play, and weekend competitions. Highly recommend you plan a day trip...

Walking

This is a wonderfully picturesque, dog-friendly (on leash) walk and now it is even more pedestrian-friendly since the prohibition of vehicles (apart from those required by people with limited mobility) from the summit road.

Great spot. More a steady walk than a hike. Great park, and feeling of separation from the city. Lovely spot to check out.
