This is an easily accessed loop walk with a few places where you can join it from surrounding roads. There is a large carpark, plus extra kerbside parking at the beginning/end, yet you could also join the walk from Bucklands Beach Road. At the start/end and midway at the highest point there are picnic areas and park benches. Midway at the top there is some public, outdoor, fitness equipment and a new playground. This walk will be good in the summer when the tracks have dried out. The wooden platform bridges are in need of scrubbing to reduce their slipperiness too. Lots of wonderful birdlife along the track and there's a good view of the beach from the top. The Eastern Beach at the beginning/end of the track is really picturesque, only lightly populated and a great picnic spot, complete with ample parking and well maintained public bathrooms.

Currently (Oct 2019) this walk is especially muddy, swampy and slippery and overgrown in parts. However, the fact that it isn't a pristine walk gives it a certain raw appeal - great for children to have some muddy fun - just make sure their shoes have some grip! The beach is really picturesque and provides you with a less known, yet equally beautiful view of the Hauraki Gulf.
