A hike along some open fields, some forest and across a lake (possible to swim, small beach area). Great for kids! It brings you to a scenic lookout from which you can spot the ocean using a free telescope that is mounted at the scenic lookout. After the lake (playarea for kids) the hike brings you along the Brederodeberg which used to be owned by the family Brederode. The Brederode castle ruin is nearby and this hike can easily be combined with a visit to the ruins. The trail is paved in most areas, but is a sandy trail in some other areas. Small elevation changes.

I took a 30 minute train from Amsterdam to this park early July.. it was spectacular! There’s so many walking, biking, and horse back riding trails that all criss cross each other. The little beach area is very clean, intimate, and offers some shade. The multiple biomes that are present are all so distinct. Definitely not a very strenuous hike, but there were some sand dune hills to traverse that got your heart rate up! Definitely recommend this National Park for anyone who wants to get outta the city and retreat into the wilderness!
