Completed 12 day out and back trek out of Lukla to EBC back in October. While base camp was nice waypoint experiencing the sunrise on the summit of Kala Patthar was far more rewarding. October was a busy month and paths were fairly crowded. Pack light and go with a guide as it makes it easier to navigate the tourist checkpoints and permits. Enjoy the breathtaking views throughout the Khumbu Valley.

Completed the EBC in mid March and was on the last flight out of Kathmandu before Nepal closed its borders on March 23 due to Beautiful trek. Gets harder as we gain the height. Altitude sickness hits everyone differently.

I actually have a question for anyone who has done the trek to everest base camp. do you need any sort of permit to do the trek? or can you just go out and do it? what is the legal way to do this?

We completed this trail in total of 13 days. It was a struggle especially the second day towards namche. That was an incline!!! Recommendation: do not overpack. Get a guide. Have solar panel to charge and have multiple boots. other than that you’re solid. On yes, you will hate it until you make it. But worth every damn minute. I don’t talk about views.. because if you’re going to Everest, you know you’ll be wowed.

19 days across the beautiful Khumbu. January brings crisp night, stunning skies and formidable light for photography. Crowds are absent and loneliness is welcomed. Only raw hikers frequent the cold days up to Kala Pattar where temperatures fall to minus 30C.

I will never forget the endless beauty of the 11 day down-and-back EBC hike. It seemed as if every corner we turned revealed another jaw-dropping display of Mother Nature. The hike itself was moderate to difficult, but really became very difficult once you reach the final day of ascent around Gorakshep. Other than water and boots the most important item to carry is a buff to reduce inhalation of dust and potential for “Khumbu Cough” — go slow, drink 3-5litres of water/day, and listen to your body. Altitude is a big challenge and effects everyone differently. Overall, it was the best trek of my life.

It’s extremely difficult due to the high altitude but those views are amazing. You won’t like any other mountain in the world once you see those giants. Btw, the entire distance from Lukla to EBC and back to Lukla was around 90 miles and not 64

I love the Himalayas and have trekked to EBC twice ( during spring season when the Rhododendrons are in bloom) including Gikyo Ri and Island Peak! I love the Sherpa’s and the spectacular views of the Mountain Ranges ! Truly humbling! This is a moderate to extremely difficult hike given the high altitude and low oxygen level. Train and lorepare yourself for the hours of walks and quick changes in weather with night temperatures in Tea houses dipping below -10 F The tea houses, the Mani wheels , the long hanging bridges are sights to behold ! Definitely a MUST do in your bucket list! I conduct private small group treks from the US ! Contact me if u are interested ! Best Indu 704-451-3010

We did a 12-day trek to EBC in October and it was AMAZING! The views are spectacular and ever-changing. At times a bit crowded, as trekkers bottleneck into villages late in the day; while at other times no one else in sight! Quite cloudy throughout and snowy while we were there, but we were lucky to get a phenomenal view of Everest on our way back to Gorak Shep from EBC at sunset. Be prepared for a little discomfort, potentially very cold conditions, and likely respiratory Illness...but mostly come prepared for one of the greatest, most memorable times of your life!

Day 5 for us trekking to Everest Base Camp. Beautiful weather here in November. Trails are not too crowded. The experience is amazing. Unfortunately I did not record our first 4 days. Just arrived in Dingboche and will acclimate here tomorrow.

Pretty gentle to start with, heading down into the valley beyond Namche before a long old slog up to Tengboche.

Acclimatisation hike above Namche - AllTrails have several trails leading up the mountain outside Khunde and on from the Hilary memorial stupas - these are not trails and would be deadly if you attempted to go down them, particularly from the memorial stupas.

D2 of Everest 3 Passes. A pretty tough day - after the bridge after Jorsalle it’s a long old slog uphill to Namche. Then the steps in town seem to sap the last remaining ounces of energy from you! Not a great day with views as the weather was cloudy
