Poon Hill Trek: Tadapani to Ghandruk is a 3.7 mile moderately trafficked point-to-point trail located near Ghandruk, Gandaki Pradesh, Nepal that features beautiful wild flowers and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round.
Day 4 of Annapurna 5-day trek to Poon Hill. This portion's destination is Ghandruk; a relatively short day, about 3 hours mostly downhill. You can consider continuing to Kimche. However Ghandruk has many good guest houses (while Kimche has almost none) and some sightseeing; there is a small local museum, a monastery and a temple. Take a rest in Ghandruk to sit outside in the sun and enjoy the warmer temperature at the lower altitude. From Tadopani you descend through the last mossy Rhododendron forest, through deep gorges, along a clear creek. Closer to Ghandruk the scenery starts changing to a dryer, more open forest. Ghandruk is also used as a stop-over for hikers who are on the way or returning from the ABC -Annapurna Base Camp- trek.

Hotel trekkers Inn and Annapurna hotel are arguably the nicest hotels in Ghandruk. Stop over at the German bakery of Hotel Sakura (just below Trekkers Inn) for fresh cinnamon rolls and appel-crumble in the afternoon. Kimche has hardly any guest houses, so stay in Ghandruk.
It’s an amazing trek with clouds appearing in and out of the forest on the trial. Amazing views and lovely landscape. The forest can get a bit muddy & slippery on certain spots but over all the walk is pleasant and beautiful. You can see many species of local flowers & some indigenous plants. Just completed the 5 day poonhill, Ghorepani trek in April 2018.
