Cerro del Centinela is a 5 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico that offers the chance to see wildlife and is rated as difficult. The trail is primarily used for hiking and trail running and is best used from October until May. Dogs are also able to use this trail.

A challenging trail. Have water on you. Go during winter. I did not make it to the top due to a late start. You must plan it well if you want to get to the peak. A morning arrival is good. I went through Mexicali. TRUMPS WALL is under construction so take advantage now before it takes away the scenery. There are illegals there but they don’t harm anyone. However be cautious. For the most part, they won’t bother you. Take a friend or someone with you. It’s a dangerous trek. Have fun. I’ll go back before Winter is over to avoid the heat.

It’s scary AF but I managed to finished it.the wind blows decent enough throw you off the cliff. So be careful at midpoint for that. There’s a song about el cerro del centinela. Listen to it first before hiking the ancient guardian!
