This is a guided hike. Arrive at the gate by 9:30 am to join the hike. During the month of December, a second sunset hike leaves the gate at 4:30pm. This is a short but fairly challenging hike to the top of a peak with excellent views of Cabo San Lucas. There's no official trailhead. Entry is through a gated chainlink fence in front of a dog kennel. The kennel is across from a Navy base. This is private property, so please take a guided tour provided by the landowner daily. The trail initially follows an obvious dirt road. When the road reaches a second cement platform you can go straight (flat) to Divorce beach or go right, steeply up to the peak. It gets a bit confusing as the pitch steepens. There are multiple paths. If you continue east on a flat trail north of the peak then you will get nice views down to Divorce Beach. If you hike down to Divorce Beach, there is the option to take a boat back to the Marina, with or without a tour around the famous Arch of Cabo San Lucas.

As many have said, it’s more of a scramble than a hike. Definitely wear good shoes. The whole thing (up and down) is only 1.5 miles, but it’s tricky climbing. Enrique and the crew of dogs are awesome but make it slow going. Don’t do this if rocky climbing isn’t your thing. We loved it!

Really nice trail with amazing views of the whole city, it'll last 2 hours or less, you can only get in with the owners permission at 8:20am (leaves at 8:30), he will walk you up with his 15ish dogs. The trail gets kinda difficult when you start scaling rocks but I saw at least 3 bold people do it in flip flops. Would not recommend flip flops though. Communicate with the owner on Facebook there's a link in the comments below somewhere.

Great trail and as described by others. It will be closed for three weeks after Saturday, November 16 so that enrique can trap all of the snakes hatching for the season. Saturday is the last trip in the morning at 8:30. Phone +52 624 122 1316.

This is an amazing trail for people who truly like an active hike. It is part path but mostly rock climbs. This is NOT a casual hike or stroll down a nature path. You will get VERY sweaty and grimy. A lot of areas need hand holds to get up, so your hands will get dirty. The hikes are led by the owner of a dog shelter/rescue and he is amazing. You will hike with a pack of dogs, but they are very well trained and do not get in the way. There is no shade so bring much more water than you think you will need. And maybe some small snacks to keep energy up. Also lots of sunblock/hats/cooling towels as the sun is MERCILESS! You don’t need to be super active to climb up, but it will definitely be a challenge for sedentary people or those with mobility problems. The climb is steep and the descent can be worse, but the views are well worth it. The trail is not long overall, but the elevation change is significant. Overall, I loved it, but I am used to rocky climbs because I live in the Franklin Mountains of El Paso, TX. P. S. Message owner through Facebook messenger or cell phone. FB page is Ascenco al Cerro del Vigía. For our times, hikes were at 8:30 am and 5:30 pm, so it might vary by season.

Amazing views. Guided hike with owner and his dogs. Lots of scrambling/rock climbing. Not kid friendly unless your kids are experienced and sure footed. Worth the climb though with endless views

Learned from our trip 2 years ago to enter by the gate across from the naval base. Enrique posts what time hikes are available. There is also a Facebook page (cerro del vigia). Enrique led our small group (our 3 plus 7 others) and we were accompanied by a pack of dogs, which was rad! The total hike took about 1.5 hours, which included chilling at the top. As others have stated, definitely bring water, wear sunscreen and go to the bathroom before arriving.

Amazing views at the top, worth the 8 minutes of what seemed like climbing up the mountain. Emailed Enrique the day before & instructed to arrive 5-10 minutes before 9:30. Back down by 11, including hanging out at the top and taking pictures.

Great trail. Guide is super. Be prepared for no shade, some steep inclines, scrambling on the way down. Bring plenty of water and sunscreen. Views are incredible.

Did this in March, and was very warm- not a whole lot of shade on the hike but luckily not a long one. The Guide is a hoot, but be prepared for his eccentric stop and chats on the way up. Hot dog breath on the way up as half of his boarded dogs trek up with you, which was slightly comical. This is a pretty easy hike, with stunning views and with the short amount of time spent on it was well worth getting in some physical activity during a vacay full of tequila and tacos! One last note- there is a little bit of a scramble on the final ascent, if you get vertigo you may question if it is appropriate to do the hike.
