The Taman Rimbah Teluk Bahang Forest Park has tragically been closed for over a year now, due to an outbreak of leptospirosis. The park covers an area of 873 hectares of virgin rainforest, and includes  a 32 hectare recreational park, with pools, picnic areas and a camping ground. It was opened in 1974 with the aim of increasing people’s appreciation of Malaysian ecology. The entrance to the Forest Park is next door to the Butterfly Park. The trails are all clearly marked and this trail is easy to follow, with signposts every 50 metres, and posts with numbers on marking key points. The trick is to know which number stations each trail follows (in this case 1, 6, 7, 2, 3, 4, 5) and follows the signs to those stations.
