Great for day hike

Highly recommend this trail if you just want to do a day hike or even half a day. I took a lot of stop as there were heaps of great areas to just relax. The end point has a very lovely view of the whole city of Osaka and Nara.

Easy day hike after the initial climb up. Well maintained and marked, but not the most scenic hiking to be found with Kyoto near by. That said, on a clear day you can easily see to Kobe and Kansai along the ridge line. This could easily be done in sneakers and run the whole length. Had to stop because I ran out of water (packed 4.5L) in the 104 deg. F heat. Plenty of shade, just killer humidity with summer heat. Trail surface is mostly packed dirt and stones placed to mark the path. Even on a Monday you will encounter local hikers and trail runners. Didn’t hear any Bear Bells though!

Nice and long trail with few spots for relax and have some lunch. Also very good for more fanatic people who like to training hard, this is the right trail.
