Not my definition of easy, especially with all the mud!

This was a great trail for beginners with a good view. There are more trails than the ones shown on this app. I would not recommend any of the trails for children less than seven years old.

Mt. Ishikawa is an easy to moderate trail that offers a challenging and safe ascent and decent throughout the "A" trail. The "B" trail is slightly more challenging. The "C" trail is a moderately difficult for those looking for a challenge. The path leading to the top of the mountain after the ascent is covered in young bamboo making anyone over 5'5 have to consistently move the limbs from their eyesight which gets a little annoying after about 200m. If it has rained in the past 48 hours, I do not recommend newer trekkers to do this hike because this whole mount is practically clay mud and EXTREMELY slippery when wet.

We enjoyed this trail. It was a pretty easy climb that our 5 year old had no issues with. Nice view from the top. We didn’t venture too far only going from the parking lot to the peak with a play break at the castle.

Hiked the B course of the Ishikawa Dake loops. Good hike with great weather. The trail was a little muddy from the rain on the previous day.

Excellent trail. Trail A is great for kids and an good challenge for 5 year olds with a lot of energy. Not a challenge for experienced hikers. Try trail C. Each trail separates and extends at the peak. My little ones had a blast on the adventure trail. (Great place to plan a hike with lunch after or breakfast then a hike).

A well marked and safe trail, can be strenous at the beginning. We had to pull ourselves up quite a lot using ropes and tree roots. Park and sign in at the youth center and you can take the english maps there. There are 3 courses to choose from, we took the B course. It took us around 2.5 hrs.

it was not as easy as I thought. we made it to the top and saw a trail off to the right and decided to try it. however we could not find the path that has the waterfall. we will come back and try again.

I wouldn’t consider this trail as “easy”. Some of the trailheads were hard to read when it came to knowing which trail you wanted. On the longer trail (C) there is water/stream where you are walking on primarily rocks and it can get slippery. Overall it was a fun and great hike! Wouldn’t recommend bringing younger children due to the climbing with ropes.

Good hike. Would not consider it easy. Trails are hard to map and very steep in some spots. Very slippery and some walking through water.

Nice hiking trail. Bring shoes you don’t mind getting wet as one of the paths does go through the water. Bring water! Beautiful views.

Great trail! Although I wouldn’t rate it as easy. Not a hike I’d recommend for small kids or elderly people. Beautiful scenery though!

Great trail. The more difficult hikes do not include the rope swings. Trails A,B and C vary in difficulty. I would not rate this trail easy. There are spots with steep inclines which require you to use the ropes to assist. Trail C is my favorite trail close to Courtney. Bring water!

Sections are much harder than it’s rating, including steep, muddy, and narrow inclines into rocky creeks. It’s well worth it though, a beautiful trail with rare views of the pacific and East China Sea at the same time.
