This is a pretty cool "off trail" trail. Its a little dirt trail breaks of the main one. It's a lot less crowded, with a really cool bamboo forest, and a hike through some houses and up the side of the mountain. which, the mountain had wild raspberries growing on it when I was there ( late may) I would do it again!

Hiked fall 2017. A spiritual event even for a non spiritual person. Kyoto sunset with Osaka as the horizon was amazing.

Great trail. I would recommend taking the trail that is not line with tori gates that starts from behind the shrine. At least for one way. It's much less crowded. I saw maybe about 7 people on that trail. Much more peaceful and line by bamboo forrest. There are also a bunch of smaller shrine along the way.

Such an awesome Hike. Like no other. 10,000 beautiful torii gates lead you to the top of Inari Mountain. Very nice gardens and a few decent views of the city.
