A great 2 day hike over the "white mountain" (aka Haku-san), one of Japan's '3 holy peaks'. Although a little hard to get to, Haku-san is well worth a visit. One of the 100 famous mountains

We went on a very sunny day in the last week of May. Still a lot of snow, at times there was no indication of where the path was. Other trails to the top still too dangerous according to the employee at the information point. Beautiful sights though!! We met one other couple during our hike (on a Wednesday). We wrongly assumed we could set up a tent at the Murodo hut, this is not allowed so we booked a room (6000JPY app).
