June 2, 2019A good decent power walk/hike of around 1 hr from town, perhaps a bit longer for cruisers. For your efforts the views are breathtaking in good weather. Starts off on a well made stone path after the Bastion tower it turns rocky so a good pair of hiking shoes or boots for added protection could be useful. Hiking poles could be useful for those who use them. Excellent early morning although I did it in afternoon in early June and missed the sun so it was perfect conditions for ascending although it’s forested most of the way.
