5.0 mile trail near Cerreto di Spoleto in the Valnerina, Italy This Cerreto and Triponzo circular Walk is about 5.0 miles long and located near Cerreto di Spoleto, Italy. The trail is great for hiking and normally takes a half day. Starting at Borgo Cerreto there is a stiff climb up to Cerreto but a stop at the museum and then for coffee in the piazza are rewards. You will see a Roman carved inscription dating to 88AD and walk part of the famous old Spoleto-Norcia light railway

A great half day walk. Cerreto is interesting - you can learn all about the Cerretani in the middle ages - it's the derivation of our word charletan. You find a carved Roman inscription on a stone in a very unlikely place and on the walk back towards Borgo Cerreto you join the track of the famous old Spoleto-Norcia railway, including passing through a short tunnel
