Go up from the Costiera dei cech, cross the Val dei Ratti to reach Valchiavenna and the shores of Lake Mezzola. An adventure that connects the Valtellina. A journey in the Rhaetian Alps through all the best scenery: typical villages, mountain pastures, rocks, majestic peaks, alpine lakes, evocative forests, unforgettable panoramas. A crossing between valleys, which requires a certain organizational commitment (leaving two cars in two different places) but which gives great satisfaction. Start from Poira, from the car park go up the steep path that indicates that in a couple of hours it leads us to the Bivacco Bottani. From here we continue the ascent in the NE direction until we reach the pass that leads us to Val dei Ratti. You are now at the highest point of your itinerary. From here the descent begins, in the presence of Mount Spluga. Among small rivulets of water you go down, following the few trail markers present up to the Bivacco Primalpia, a useful structure that rises at an altitude of 1980 m. in the upper Val dei Ratti. From here always following the signs for Verceia, cross the wild Val dei Ratti up to the Verceia Dam. Following part of the famous Tracciolino path we quickly descent until you come to the mule track that connects Verceia with Frasnedo. Here you can end our crossing if you have left a car, otherwise, continue to the shores of Lake Verceia and finish there.
