You start at the ocean in Larento. If I were to rebook this trip, I would have stayed in Larento for a few days, it is one of the most beautiful places on Cinque Terre! The hike itself is wonderful. Saw one snake but looked like a garter snake...nothing to worry about! Bring water, hiking poles with rubber ends, lots of water, sunscreen and a small sweat towel the kind they sell at MEC. It is amazing how many people you see that are dripping sweat down their faces & arms. Remember to start any Cinque Terre hike in the early morning. The heat and the volume of tourists starting at noon can truly be crazy. Plan to be done by noon, have lunch & head to the beach if you want a wonderful experience. Otherwise you will get to rub sweaty bellies with other tourists on the single file sections of the paths.

great trail to get the coastal view of the 5 villages of Cinque Terre. Lots of steps but worth it.

awesome trail, with beautiful views and some physical challenges. 2 kids of 8 and 11 years old did it with succes.

Amazing views! Great hike and easy to navigate. There are a LOT of large and unequal stairs/steps and my knees (whereas normally I'm advanced) ended up getting a major workout! But I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

trail starts by a blue house in Levanto. glorious views of the sea through out. lots of steps up and down on both ends of the trail.

this is a superb trail. I find it toughest going from monterosso to levanto, especially at the beginning if it's a hot day, but I'm not as fit as I was. I would say this trail is suitable for children aged 10 and up. often see people walking the trail with dogs.
