A walk of historical interest and old and new river hydraulics. The part will concentrate on the City of Gradisca, which is an elongated territorial extension and on the right bank of the Isonzo River. The peculiarity of Gradisca which is a key point for the control of the plain and the river. In fact, the Fortress first built by Captain Emo of the Republic of Venice was of interest to Leonardo da Vinci for a possible dam to be blown up in the event of a Turkish attack from the South. For this reason it is almost certain that the great Genius went to the site for inspection and drawings whose copies are at the Marciana Library in Venice. But historical Gradisca has an overlap of notevoole events: from Venice to the Habsburgs, attempts at Venice, from County to County Princely, to the First World War to the 2WW. The character of the city is exquisite, a niche of Venetian flavors mixed with asbuirgic ones. The river park can be visited from the Fortress along the embankment. One can observe the large oblique cross-section overflow just to the north and immediately after the toll of an overflow canal that takes the Isonzo water after the high cross section of Gorizia. The channel of the section of some tens of square meters develops for less than 10 km feeding a power plant upstream of Gradisca. Autumn walking is especially useful if it is sunny.
