The small lake of Ragogna is the result of a long glacial intermorenic stagnation (2nd and 3rd morainic arch of the Tilaventum glacier) of the Friuli region. It is 12,000 years ago is characterized by an elliptical shape, with a diameter of half a mile and a depth of about 10 m. It is very fishy thanks to the forced seeding of "avanotti". Here the "water chestnut" still grows, together with water lilies and buttercups. Not far from the lake is the important Jewish cemetery with the oldest tomb dated 1742; this is due to the refusal of the City of San Daniele to share only one cemetery.
