From the parking lot take path 1 right that crosses the Savara stream on a bridge, then turn immediately to the right and follow the dirt road that runs along it. After a short short stretch, the true and proper path starts, which branches off from it and turns sharply upwards with a series of wide bends. After a few minutes of walking, the larch trees thin out and you reach a beautiful waterfall. Continue always with hairpin bends on a never difficult path and on a paved path until you come out of the wood where you can see the first glaciers towards the head of the valley. After 2.3 hours you will arrive at the refuge. It rises on the shores of a morainic lake and the view is incredible, in front of the Moncorvè amphitheater with the splendid north face of Ciarforon. The "normal" access route to the Gran Paradiso starts from here. Continue the tour towards the Chabod refuge taking the panoramic trail 1A that in the coast with several ups and downs takes about 3.3 hours to the next refuge. Here the fatigue begins to be felt. The descent is long and very hard, given the fatigue due to the length of the loop. But you can do it. Once you reach Previeux, go up the paved road to the Port parking lot.

superbe randonnée aux paysages très variés. nous avons pris la route alternative 5A, moins empruntée par la hommes, et donc plus par les chamois !

Amazing, long hike with two wonderful stops along the way. Plenty of change in terrain and the views are simply amazing! Trail was well marked.
