“Ramon Colours” geological park has been recently established inside the crater, not too far from the ascent to Mizpe Ramon. Many quarries used to operate here in the past and it took many years to rehabilitate the area and turn it from an ugly ecological bruise back to an astonishing natural wonder. The park is practically an open museum, unveiling secrets from the heart of the earth, dotted with colourful, strange-shaped, intriguing stones. You can roam the park in your car and step out at points-of-interest, yet its much more fun to ride through the park on bicycle. The trek is fit for anyone, and riding it is easy. You can find shade in various points, so you may consider a picnic or sweet tea while enjoying a rest under a tree. Despite the trek being easy, it is still not advised for the hot hours of the summer days, so if you do come in summer, try to restrict yourself to riding in the morning and late afternoon. Don´t forget your helmet and plenty of water, and of course, a bicycle in good condition.
