. Har Ardon Mt. Ardon is the kind of mountain you can´t miss. It seems to be invading the crater, sprouting right from its walls and crawling towards its heart. Its imposing silhouette can be easily identified from pretty much any of the viewpoints in the crater´s centre. Any mountaineer laying his eyes on this one is sure to go and climb it. Yet, despite its threating appearance, Mt. Ardon is inviting to almost anybody and going up to the top is a reasonable challenge. The hike is circular, starting with ascending the mountain and then going down on the other side. The top is flat and ideal for a loll while watching the landscape. Back at the mountain foot and on the way back to the starting point, you cross a mars-looking patch of remarkable beauty, completely dry and decorated with rocks of peculiar colours. There is almost no shade along this hike, and even though the inclination is not all that hard, it is not recommended to try it on hot days. Without a doubt, this is one of the prettiest hikes in the Ramon Crater, so if you´re willing to challenge yourself a little, you will be rewarded with a spectacular experience over and around one of the most famous mountains of the Negev.
