The trail starts off in mostly commercial, managed evergreen woods but there is lovely old, deciduous woodland at the floor of the valley. Look out for nice distant views of Powerscourt Waterfall as you start out. There are also views of Wicklow Sugar Loaf along the way. The car park closes at 4pm in winter so watch out for that. If you don't want to race the clock, there is some limited parking available on the road outside the car park

Suitable for almost all except small children and buggies. Good for families. Mostly gravel trail. Small section of woodland which was nice.

Really enjoyable, great to hike up to the waterfall. Parked at Bikers Carpark, barrier closes at 4pm so beware.

A route if someone is actually looking to hike in order to see the waterfall rather than paying a couple euros to drive right up to it. Lots of path options and it mostly depends on where you can cross and what terrain steepness you feel comfortable with.

Very easy trail, but we had fun navigating through the forest and crossing the river. As an added bonus, we avoided the entrance fee for the waterfall. Beautiful sight. There are toilets and food stand near the waterfall.

Nice short trails for the kiddos and lots to keep them interested e.g. the relatively large, fun filled playground and the activity markers along the trails. Didn't try the BBQ area but looked like great spots for such. Parking is a tad more expensive than most others trails.

Where to park and start this hike was hard to find. Ended up parking at the car park near the Wicklow trail. Made it an extra good 5 miles to walk.
