This is a short but very steep walk affording fantastic 360° panoramic views of South Dublin and Wicklow. On a clear day you can see the mountains in Wales across the sea and the Mourne mountains to the north. The last part of the climb towards the peak of the Sugarloaf is rough and rocky underfoot. This is a family-friendly hike, but some children may have trouble in the rocky sections towards the top.

Nice beginner level hike. Gets extremely narrow and slippery when reaching summit. The route gets very muddy and slushy if it rains. Very very windy. Got to be very careful with little children. Once you reach the top , views are great. Did not expect so many people during a cold windy february.

I did this with 3 kids aged 7yrs - 9yrs old they had a great time. Some places are difficult to get up and down as it is very scrambly but definitely worth it. It took about 45mins to get to the top. There’s a little coffee van in the car park for hot chocolate. Bonus for the kids!!

Amazing view of Dublin and Wicklow, quick climb. Parts are tricky footing.

This is a quick hike, it can be a little steep in places and if you’re a little short like me you’ll need to use your hands to pull yourself up at the top :’) The views of Dublin bay and Bray and Greystones are beautiful.

Sweet short trail. A bit of a steep climb on rocky terrain with a spectacular view as a reward.

We loved this hike! We did it with my 4-year-old son who was attached to me with a harness. He hiked the entire thing with little to no help. There is some steep parts toward the summit and a few loose rocks but it’s all manageable.

Easy enough climb until the very end. Hiking shoes a must and rain gear as there is no shade. Fabulous views of Dublin Bay at the top.

Its a relatively short and offers great 360 views from the top... hills and country and ocean views. Free parking down below. we didnt want to take our kiddos up the least little bit to the very top because it gets quiet a bit steeper and there is a lot of loose rock.

NB the last part of the climb towards the peak of the Sugarloaf is very rough and rocky underfoot, and not suitable for anyone unfit or with mobility issues. Popular with kids.
