The Yeats Country to Donegal Coastal Drive is a 50 mile drive along the picturesque southern side of Donegal bay with some wonderful off the road locations to enjoy. Start at Nobel Laureate W.B. Yeats's grave under Ben Bulben in Drumcliffe, County Sligo and drive around the iconic plateau from Connacht into Ulster. Many Donegal Town-bound visitors might overlook a few hidden gems along the bay in their efforts to get to this famous heritage town. Along the way, visit an iconic castle, a great base for exploring, the setting for a classic Irish drama, an ancient holy well, an award-winning coastal walk, a reinvigorated local community, a tucked away seaside port and an artists' village. The final stop will be a wonderful patisserie in Donegal Town.
