Great 14 kilometres of heaven heavy snow 2/3 foot half way up, deep, steep climb, hard going.

HikingGreat!

Great hike; the trail is in really good condition, a little boggy past Camarahill but nothing too difficult if you have good boots. (Last week in August 2020) Got lucky with the weather, the views are incredible.

WalkingGreat!MuddyNo shade

Hi, the lug is a long and fairly straightforward trek can be muddy in places so make sure to have the right footwear. It's a lonely hike as you rarely come across too many people. I've climbed it 3 times and never got good views from the top but as with any long hike like this you will get great views along the way. You won't find any real pathway if the weather does turn on you so be sure to keep track of your location. There are no facilities to use on this hike.

Great hike but not for a beginner...conditions change really quickly, tough at the start and last climb to summit

Great day out. Doing it with a group adds a lot of craic to it also.

Excellent hike. did it on a clear day so had no issues with navigation.. Excellent views. towards the top/ rock area, after the river bit almost put my foot into a few holes. so be careful. but overall, Excellent hike and had no issues with the ascent. 3.5 hours.

Hiking

Neat little walk up without any difficulty. Started on a road by the pub and then walked through farmland. Headed up and over Camarahill and stayed on the shoulder to the right of the peak. It was nice a chilly at the top and made me appreciate having extra layers. I was lucky and the rain was all on the peaks north of me. Nice 3 hour round trip and a good way to finish my Irish vacation.
