RunningGreat!

On a trail run, ran this loop on 11th July. New zig-zags on the Spinc, they’re quite steep and not runnable for me. Hiked up to great views from the Spinc down to the lakes below once you reach the top. On and on up to Lugduff, a good long steep climb past some sheep and follow the trial left down and back up to Mullacor. A peaty non-defined trail up to Mullacor, grand this time of year, I’d imagine it could be crappy in Winter months. The run from Mullancor to Cullentragh is great craic, real ‘brain off, brakes off’ run on spongy ground, and a really enjoyable undulating run up Derrybawn back towards the Upper lake. The decent from Derrybawn back to the fire road is particularly steep so best to take it carefully. Trail or boardwalks the whole route, amazing views, I’ll be back to do this one again.

HikingMuddyOff trail

Really fun hike, not to hard on the legs at all. Beautiful scenery. Very muddy in places so Waterproof boots are a must. Just keep an eye on the alltrails map whenever your unsure where to go. 5 star app for keeping you on the right track. Overall great day out. Takes roughly 3/4 hours depending on pace.

First to Review

Very fun hike - hard to spot a few of the turns at the beginning but worth it. Make sure you just follow the red line in the AllTrails app closely and you’ll be fine. Ends up rejoining part of the red trail and later the white trail at the end. Bring real hiking boots if you want to try this one out - the day I went, it was very very muddy for about 3-4 miles at the top of the mountains. Beautiful, 360 degree views for much of it! Highly recommend.
